What makes it dancefloor?
Big melodies, direct bass hooks and clear builds make these records work across clubs and festival stages. Dancefloor is a broad description rather than a tightly bounded genre; it often borrows from liquid, jump-up and harder sounds.
What to listen for
Listen for a recognisable hook, a build that creates anticipation and a drop designed for immediate impact.
