What makes it jump-up?
Jump-up puts playful, upfront bass riffs and the physical response of a crowd at its centre. From its 1990s roots to sharper contemporary production, the focus is a hook that lands straight away.
What to listen for
Listen for punchy drums, short repeating bass phrases, dramatic gaps and a call-and-response feel.
