What makes it techstep?
Techstep brings a darker, industrial edge to drum and bass: distorted bass, clipped drums and tense science-fiction atmospheres. Its mid-to-late-1990s sound helped open the route towards neurofunk. The styles overlap; Wormhole is a listening point on that moving boundary.
What to listen for
Listen for a heavy, repeating bass figure, tightly placed kicks and snares, metallic textures and space that feels deliberately uneasy.
