AI & Automation
Make intelligence useful.
AI becomes valuable when it fits the way your business actually works. I build the connections between language models, your information and your existing tools, with a clear job for the system to do.
Why work with me?
You get a technical developer who can work on the integration as well as the prompt, and explain the trade-offs in plain English.
- Start with one useful, measurable task
- Connect AI with existing business systems
- Keep people in control of important decisions
Choose the problem before the model
Start with a task that takes too much time or causes friction: answering the same enquiries, organising incoming information, finding material in documents or moving data between tools. We define what a good result looks like and where a person should remain involved.
Some tasks need a language model. Others are better handled by a straightforward automation or a change to an existing process. My job is to build the right solution for the task.
LLMs that work with your information
A useful assistant may need access to approved documents, a product catalogue or a business system. I can develop the retrieval and API connections around the model so it can work with relevant information instead of relying on a generic conversation.
The scope can include instructions, knowledge sources, structured responses, handover to a person and checks using representative questions. We agree what the assistant is allowed to do and what it should do when it cannot answer reliably.
Automation beyond a chat window
Examples we can scope include capturing a website enquiry, preparing a draft response, routing a request to the right place or turning unstructured information into a format your team can use. These are possible applications, chosen around your workflow.
I work across code, APIs and data handling, so an automation can reach beyond the limits of a single off-the-shelf tool. Where a simple existing integration does the job, there is no benefit in making the system more complicated.
Understand the ongoing commitment
We discuss the data involved, access permissions, provider choices and likely running costs before committing to a design. Sensitive or consequential actions can require human approval rather than being carried out automatically.
A small initial implementation gives us something concrete to test. From there, we can refine the instructions, failure handling and workflow. You receive an explanation of how the system operates and what needs maintaining.
A few practical questions
Can this work with my website?
Yes, where the required data and systems are accessible. Tell me what the website runs on and which tools need to connect.
Do I need to know which model I want?
No. Describe the task, the information available and the constraints. We can choose an approach around those requirements.
Are there ongoing costs?
There may be model usage, hosting or third-party service costs. These depend on the implementation and should be identified separately from the development quote.
Start with a conversation.
A clear brief is enough to get started. You do not need to arrive with a technical specification.
